"Blame It on The A-A-A-A-A!"

On Wednesday, October 28, Coco and Dan hosted an Alcohol Program on the four floor of Zura. With around 15 residents in attendance, Coco covered important alcohol facts, such as the possible consequences of alcohol abuse and some ways to drink responsibly. There were many activities and all the residents seemed to enjoy themselves. They were curious and interacted during the program. Some of the facts seem to really shock the residents and encouraged them to think about their drinking habits. Overall a success!!

Be safe this Halloween Weekend!

PREP Team Member Spotlight- Daniel "Boomer" Coll

Daniel Coll, but most people know me as Boomer. I am 20 years old and I’m a fourth year senior here at SDSU. I will be graduating in the Spring with a degree in Business Management. I have been involved in organizations on campus such as fratMANers, the SDSU Men’s Club Soccer Team, Gamma Sigma Alpha Honor Society, and currently work at Viejas Arena. As a PHE in fratMANers, we learn about everything there is to know about violence against women, and then give presentations to groups on campus on things we can do to reduce the violence around campus. I am also interested in helping in presentations involving alcohol and methods to be successful in the classroom. Some of the ways I look forward to doing this is organizing presentations for success and creating a casino night to teach students about alcohol.

PREP Team Member Spotlight- Chelsea Hurt

Hey everyone, my name is Chelsea, I’m 23 years old and I’m a senior here at SDSU with a major in Psychology and a minor in Public Health.  While attending SDSU I have had a chance to be involved in many clubs, programs, and organizations.  I am currently a Peer Health Educator in the track of Sexual Health.  In PHE we do presentation and can help with any information in the area of STD’s, rape, healthy relationships, contraception, and HIV/AIDS.  I have also been trained to be apart of Safe Zones on campus.   Safe Zones is an organization to provide a safe environment and ally for the LGBTQ community.  Recently I have been getting more involved in a new program called S.O.S. – Sorority outreach and support.  This has been created to help provide support and education to the sororities (but not limited to) on campus about how to deal with sexual assault and domestic violence.  Along with that I’m in Psi Chi, a psychology honors organization as well as secretary of PATCH (Peer Advocated for Total College Health).   Some programs that are interesting to me are in the area of sexual health!  I can help with presentations, brochures, and games.  I can also help with information on the LGBTQ community with helpful information or presenters.  If these aren’t areas in which you want to do programs for, I can also help providing you with fun and interactive games.  Some of these include ways to show how easily negative effects can effect many people or a chance to have an interactive group discussion on how they agree or disagree on issues surrounding people our age today.  If I can help you in any way for your programs, I am here to help!
